Domaine de La Hille is a beautifully restored French farmhouse, with origins dating back to the 12th Century.
Remote and private, La Hille lies atop a natural spring. The house and grounds are a sanctuary for creativity and inspiration. The brand new music studio is the most exciting addition to the spirit of La Hille.
The Languedoc
The Languedoc region where La Hille is located is considered to be the last “truly wild part of France”.
Far from the yachts and crowds of the Riviera, La Hille is steeped in the mysterious history and wild beauty of Cathar Country (Pays Cathare).
The house sits in a valley between the black mountains (Montagne Noire) and the Pyrenees, in an area known for its butterflies and sunflowers, far from any big towns - with only a few small medieval villages peppered throughout the rolling hills, and the birds - for company.
Whether you’re writing an album, hosting a poetry retreat or workshop, going riding/cycling in the hills each day, or simply on holiday, La Hille is a versatile and serene haven that runs like a small boutique hotel.
Though very much a home, La Hille has nurtured the artist’s heart for many years.
We welcome visitors who aim to use the house for retreats, writing workshops, yoga, or simply a peaceful holiday amidst the ancient trees and the butterflies of Cathar Country.

The property can sleep up to 18 guests.

Private Chef
The full time chef prepares from local markets and the vegetable garden on the property, leaving extra time for relaxation and exploring.
Swimming Pool
The heart of the property. The saltwater swimming pool is surrounded by lounge beds and daily fresh towels. (Shallow end and alarmed.)
